Probiotics and prebiotics

Do you know our body contains trillions of microorganisms?

In fact some scientists estimate that bacteria cells outnumber human cells by 10 to 1!

While, this may sound terrifying, you should be aware that many of these microorganisms help our body to function properly.

These good bacteria helps breakdown food, destroy disease causing microorganisms and synthesize vitamins.

Wow! This sounds so promising that many bacterial diseases and infections can be prevented.

So how do you increase the good bacteria in the body?

Let's dive in!

What are PROBIOTICS?

probiotics

Probiotics are good, beneficial, live bacteria and yeast that keeps our gut healthy.

Remember that:

A healthy gut is the key to your overall health.

The microorganisms (i.e. Good Bacteria) in probiotic products are the same or similar to microorganisms that are naturally found in our body.

However, due to several reasons there could be imbalance in our gut flora compromising the good bacteria.

Awww ....... The Bad bacteria are more than Good bacteria! Now What?

Your immunity weakens and you start experiencing health issues.

Now you need a Booster. So PROBIOTIC plays the role of booster to boost your immunity and balance your gut flora (i.e increase the good bacteria in your gut to fight the disease causing bacteria)

You can find probiotics in supplements that are available at the pharmacy and the natural way for your probiotic intake is from yogurt and fermented foods.

It is advisable to include probiotic food in your daily diet.

What are PREBIOTICS?

prebiotics

The most straightforward way to describe Prebiotics is a fiber.

However, a more accurate description is that they're a non-digestive fiber, meaning, it isn't broken-down by the gut. Instead it passes to the colon where it is fermented to feed gut micro flora.

In other words, Prebiotics are a food source for beneficial bacteria that help them survive and thrive in the gut micro biome.

Prebiotics can be found in supplements at the pharmacy and in natural food sources like garlic, onions, leek, green leafy vegetables and many more.

Keynotes

Many clinical studies reported that the combination of Probiotic bacteria and Prebiotics has therapeutic effect in patients with Colon Cancer, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Bacterial Infections, Yeast Infections, Urinary tract infections and Constipation.

Probiotics helps in the absorptions of Iron and Calcium from the foods.

Both Probiotics and Prebiotics are highly beneficial for maintaining immunity and overall health.
